about me

Hello!

I’m so glad you are here! I hope you enjoyed my portfolio work and if you’ve made it this far, I’d love to share my journey of how I got here.

I graduated from Smithville High School in 2016 and started at Akron Wayne College in the fall of 2016. I was hoping to fulfill an associates degree, to become an X-ray technologist. School has never really been my thing but I wanted to get started on a career and get school out of the way.

In my first semester at Wayne, I quickly realized I wasn’t as passionate about the anatomy and the way the human body works, as I thought I would be. I tried to stick it out and used creating art as an outlet to do in my free time. I decided in my second semester that I needed to determine whether to tough it out or change my major.

My mom and my sister consistently encouraged me to check out graphic design. They saw me as a creative, and ambitious fun person and thought I would love designing. My aunt is a graphic designer at Town Money Saver so, I job shadowed her for a day. Within ten minutes of sitting and watching her create an advertisement with her own ideas, I knew I wanted to be a designer.

In August of 2017 I started the design program at The University of Akron’s main campus. Four years later, I am proud to say I still love designing. The process of developing research into an idea into sketches and how quickly your ideas can change once you get onto screen, still amazes me and drives me to become better everyday.
